a few Recommendations..( personal favourites of mine ,would include)
T.Oxley& the celebration Orchestra -featuring Bill Dixon-Soul Note-121284-2-1994
T O& Cecil Taylor-Leaf Palm Hand- FMP,CD 06 1989
Bill Dixon-Vade mecum 1&2- 1994, Soul Note121208-2& 121211-2
Derek Bailey& Tony Oxley- Soho Suites- Incus cd 29/30
NB- For me each side of Incus 08- works well as a suite , indeed its difficult aurally to judge where tracks begin and end so ..Ive left each Side intact without track separation ...that works well for me.
Hopefully more percussion Orientated rips soon...
ENJOY!!

By the time I stumbled across IC many of your early posts had lost their links. It's wonderful that you are reposting some of the the best here. many thanks for sharing.
Excellent! I was hoping these old IS favorites would make a reappearance in "hi-fi." I first picked this up based only on an interest in Derek Bailey, but in spite of his limited appearances ended up enjoying it a lot. Oxley's appurtenances make this far more than a "just drums" record.
jazzme i used to have that but to be frank i didnt like it ,a real stinker i thought.... Laswell's production values dont do anything for me.. i dont like his playing much either, the only thing i do like is the duet with Broetzmann,'low lfe'
About to run off to my own gig tonight, but while walking the dog I was listening to this, and I had to comment that it is a BEE-YOO-TI-FULL rip. Should be a primer on how to do these things.
Love this!
Tony solo is fantastic.
the group thing is outstandingly good.
I like it when he takes the snow-chains of his Mazda and plays those, I like the electronics (even the snippet that sounds like the opening of a Led Zeppelin tune).
Great record - thanks so much!
1009 is right - apart from 1 pop, this sounds pretty darn clean. :o)
Lovely!
Thanks very much for this - no drummer quite like Oxley!
Steve i didnt seperate the tracks ,each side works well as a suite , besides there's hardly a pause ... i love it this way ... goodluck trying to seperate them out....
BTW... I OUGHT TO have noted that i used magix de-clicking on this rip- VERY lightly no other effects
HEY Servy.... howz about Ripping us The cyrille solo eh... when you can , a friend is sending me Tony Oxley's Ichnos ... which i will post ...... a series of great drummer led albums .... would be nice or maybe ... solo records...
coming up soon as well a fresh lossless rip of group composing!
Great to see this re-upped, thanks. And the Celebration Orchestra record is a great recommendation. I also like Papyrus, a duo with Dixon.
Thanks for the re-up on this, great.
